Instructor Steps for Adding the VitalSource Direct Digital Access LTI Tool in Brightspace/D2L
Here are step-by-step instructions to add the VitalSource LTI tool to a course shell in Brightspace/D2L.
1. Sign into Brightspace/D2L
2. Select your course by clicking the Select a course… or the nine squares (waffle) icon.
3. Click "Content" from the NavBar.
4. Within your Learner Resources Module, click “Add a submodule…”
5. Give the new submodule a title, example: “LR: VitalSource”
6. Click “Add a new module”
7. Click existing activities
8. Select External Learning tools
9. Select the "VitalSource" LTI link
10. To check your work, select "View as Student" in the upper-right corner
11. Click Content
12. View the module you just created on the left-hand side.
Please note that each section is assigned a unique course ID and it is important that you do not copy the VitalSource tool from another section.

This service enables the CSM College Store to offer students direct access to the course materials your professor requires at the lowest price! The CSM College Store has implemented this program to save students as much money as possible.
What does this mean for you, the student? It means you have direct access to your digital course materials through myLearning, powered by Desire2Learn (D2L) Brightspace. Login to your myLearning course and follow the instructions within the course to access the digital materials.
When you registered for this course, a fee was charged to your student account for this course material. If for some reason you decide you do not want to purchase these required materials from the CSM College Store, you can opt out of the program by clicking “OPT OUT.” If you opt out by the deadline, your student account will be credited. After the deadline, no refunds will be issued.
